I am a professional archaeologist and a history buff. I've worked on archaeological surveys and excavations in Alaska, Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Belize, and Mongolia. I have a B.A. with a double major in anthropology and history. I also have an M.A. in anthropology with a technical focus on zooarchaeology. I'm the host of The Tel, an archaeology podcast focused on the global ancient history and prehistory of humankind.
My primary interest is arctic and maritime hunter-gatherers, but I have a general interest in ancient history and prehistory, from the stone age to the bronze age. I'm also an avid caver and rock climber. Some of the disciplines that inform my thinking include human behavioral ecology, comparative mythology, evolutionary psychology, zooarchaeology, and ethnography, among others. |
